Friday, December 30, 2011: All Aboard for the Freedom of the Seas!

Everyone was up and ready on time...miracle!  We all met at breakfast and you could definitely tell we were an excited family. The day before, I called the limo service that was to pick us up to take us to the port and informed them we had ALOT of luggage.
The nice man said not to worry, if needed he would bring a uhaul!  Well, we joked about it off an on, really thinking he wasn't serious...and guess what...

The weather was beautiful.  Last year when we sailed off, it was raining and cold.  We couldn't wait to get on the ship and experience the sail off from the pool deck.  We get to the port, got checked in very easily and then...lines and rows of people waiting to get on ship with complete lack of organization!  Oh well, takes more than that to ruin our spirits, just a moment of frustration...but we had to shape up, because we had signed a contract (drafted by Katy) to all be of good spirit, no arguing, no complaining, etc., etc.

We hurry on to the ship, Mike and the girls do their traditional jump from the gang plank onto the ship...we are here!  Lunch in the Windjammer and then we go find our cabins, well we had to part ways in the hallway so the Engelbrecht's could go to the back of the ship to find theirs!  Our suite was wonderful and even had a walk-in closet.  We then went up to the pool deck for swimming and our first pina coloda! Mike, Sheri and girls didn't have luggage until late into the evening...but of course, being the organized person he is...he had packed "day bags" and all of the necessary attire to spend the day at the pool and change clothes for dinner!

Bon Voyage!

Our dinner table in Isaac's Dining Room was great.  Our waiter, Ameer, and his assistant, Oliver, were the best. At dinner, Mike was telling us all the "hydrate" in preparation to detoxify our bodies for all of the beverages we were about to drink and coined a new name for our group "Numbers".   I quickly headed to the paino bar after dinner to see if
Kory's replacement was talented.  Much to my disappointment, and I tried several times to give him the benefit of the doubt, he was horrible!  The rest of the group was in the casino...no cute dealer this time :(

We watched the OU bowl game on the big screen on the pool deck.  Ashley and I figured out the towels you check out were warm from being just out of the dryer, glad there wasn't a limited number to check out!  A few of us were caught snoozing during the game...Sarah and Mike were happy for their team..go Sooners!
