New Year's Eve 2011

Back on the ship to sail off for New Year's Eve.  Wine on balconies and time to get dressed up!  The Joyriders were ready for celebrating!  What a good looking family!

Dinner was a blast!  New Year's Eve accessories were on the table, no doubt we weren't too shy to put it all on and ask for more!  Our pre-ordered packages of wine were dwindling down! We toasted each other and went around the table and said what we were thankful for and liked the best about 2011.  Once again, as we have in all our gatherings, we definitely find the best out of each and everything we do and cherish our times together. (And yes, Aunt Betsy had a few tears.)  No "Beverly's" in this group, or at least not at the moment!

Dinner over and off the the Arcadia Theatre for "THE PLATTERS" at Frank's request.  Frank and I loved it, singing and laughing away, but can't say the rest of our group was very entertained!  We ventured to the piano lounge, the horrible piano player was not there...yippee, and joined in a game of Name That Tune.  We actually took over some other team's answer as they left half way through, and we won the game!  We got some little RCCL camera cases...so nice.

Now for us to start stirring up some action, so we go to Pharoah's and perfect...Majority Rules Game!  We have to divide into two groups.  Team 7:  Frank, Katy, Sarah and I.  Team 8: Mike, Sheri, Curtis and Ashley (Macy was initially with team 8, but she bailed and joined us after stating "they are not PG13, more like rated R!" ) The emcee was in tears laughing at Team 8's answers and of course, couldn't repeat half of them!

Oh boy what a night on the Promenade!  Singing, dancing, cheering...you name it, it was going on.  We found a little nook with a booth that we quickly claimed as our area.  Guess who joined us for the festivities??? ELMO  Mike took up a new profession behind the counter of our booth, I asked a nice couple to be part of our family, Sarah felt very generous and bought Dom champagne (after talking Curtis into already splitting a bottle of another expensive champagne).  The most exciting moment, we will all remember, is when two men with not so good attitudes tried to start an argument with Frank and Curtis, well don't worry, Sheri took care of it!  She grabbed one of the men by the shirt collar and politely told him to leave (not really politely, but won't repeat it)!  OMG...he didn't know what had a hold of him and he was gone in a second!

At 1:30 in the morning, we were at Sorrento's eating pizza.  All nine Joyriders and Numbers were still awake and accouted for...even Macy!  It was her firsttime to make a midnight New Year's Celebration!
