I love the first morning on a ship while arriving into your first port. It was a beautiful morning and we all slept like babies, because the seas were calm! So far, no ear patches or dramimine! We ordered breakfast in the room and quickly got dressed for our day of excursion to the beach and the aquarium at Atlantis.
We were all suppose to meet at the pier for our excursion. Sarah and Ashley were running late, of course making me nervous, only to get there to wait another hour (really not quite that long) to get on the bus to go to Atlantis. We arrived at the property and walked and walked to get to our assigned beach. But, along the way were beautiful ponds with stingrays and various fish. As usual, it was difficult at times to make sure we were all together, so Mike with his humor starts his "Numbers, all numbers report!" We couldn't remember which number we were, so we numbered from youngest to oldest and it remained a funny saying the rest of the cruise.
Of course, within a few minutes of getting comfortable in our lounge chairs...everyone was hungry. Sheri, Ashley and I head off to find something to feed us all. We found a bar that served some burgers, hot dogs and wraps and mostly important...beer. We ordered so much beer (the local Kalik) that the nice bartender made us a ice chest out of a plastic bag so we could get it all back to the beach. With our tummies full and a few beers down, everyone played in the ocean and sand and had a great time. A precious poor pregnant peddler came walking by, we probably had turnded away two dozen others by now, selling Sarongs and jewelry...something inside of us clicked and we couldn't turn her away! Frank bought Sarah, Ashley and me Sarongs and bracelets for Sarah, Ashley and Katy. She was so happy with us she told us we were all "blessings" and gave Macy, Frank and Mike each a necklace!
With time running out, we had to leave our fun at the beach so we could see the rest of Atlantis. A long walk through the property, including across a rope bridge that was over SHARKS, we then explored the Dig and saw amazing sea life up close.
Joyriders saying goodbye to Nassau! But, we are already plotting our New Year's Eve festivities!
