Monday, January 2, 2012: Labadee, Haiti

We arrive early to Labadee.  What a beautiful island!

This is RCCL's private beach, so there were many things to do and they had a barbeque lunch provided.  We went to one of the beach areas briefly and then grabbed a bite to eat, before going to the pier to our boat for our excursion.  Of course, we had some stragglers and I had to worry that we were going to miss the boat, but we all made it and boarded our private boat with another family of four and left for a secluded beach.

The boat took us right up to the shore and dropped us off. We were greeted by some nice locals that waited on us the rest of the afternoon. The beach was gorgeous, almost looked untouched. We had drinks, bought some bracelets and wooden boxes from a local, swam and rented glass bottom kayaks and got to see pretty coral and sea urchins. Macy opened shop with the "special sand" only she and Uncle Frank knew about and treated us all to an exfolliation spa.

We had yet go to Olive or Twist, so we met there for drinks before dinner.  Such a view as you leave a port!  Unbelievable!  We had already decided this was family PJ night, so after dinner we quickly changed into our PJ's, some casino action and strolling about the ship...then off to the pool deck to watch the OSU game!  It was a bit chilly, so we left at half-time to go to our cabin and watch the game.  The only person awake through the entire game was...SHERI!  We had all dozed off a bit at times, but we did see the end and cheered and cheered!

  1. Those kayaks with the see-through bottoms were really neat. Im just glad to see my representation of the family's athleticism has passed down to Macy. She is really good at kayaking.
